Preschool Curriculum Overview
INFANT/TODDLER CURRICULUM
Teachers in classrooms K-1a through K-2c implement the "Tender Time" learning curriculum. Tender Time curriculum is designed to introduce young children to a well-balanced, appropriate level of learning through nursery rhyme themes. We utilize the Palma Smiley Bible curriculum to introduce the children to Bible stories. Additionally, our infants and toddlers are exposed to music hands-on with singing, marching, dancing, and musical instruments.

PRESCHOOL CURRICULUM
Preschool consists of ages 3 through 5. The curriculum outlined below is designed to assist the children in their cognitive, physical, and character development. Our educational units meet the needs of each child at the appropriate developmental stage. Additionally, classroom activities and experiences enhance self-esteem, foster self-help skills, encourage individual solving skills, and develop positive social relationships. Teachers are available for conferences upon request. The following is an overall view of the educational units taught in our preschool program:
Bible: The Word of God and Christian Development are implemented in all facets of learning through twelve monthly themes. Children are taught Christian character development through the introduction of the Fruits of the Spirit. Each monthly theme, developed through dramatic play, puppets, stories, and songs, involves two Bible stories and two scripture memory verses. Additionally, our staff minister Jesus to the children by exhibiting an example of Christ-like character, introducing the children to Jesus, teaching the children about the Bible, and through praise and worship. Parents are invited to attend our Wednesday morning chapel, beginning at 8:30 a.m. in "Kid's Church."

Language/Phonics: Alpha Time curriculum introduces children to Letter People. Children learn to recognize the alphabet and are introduced to phonics as they meet twenty-six Letter People. Some examples are: "Mr. M with a Munching Mouth, Mr. T with Tall Teeth," and "Miss U with her Unusual Umbrella." In addition, the children participate in basic pre-reading and general readiness games and activities. The language units equip children with the necessary skills and knowledge needed to prepare them for reading and writing.

Spanish: Spanish curriculum introduces children to new Spanish words each month. Children will also be exposed to the Spanish culture through food, stories, and songs.

Math: "Hands on Math" and "Math Their Way" curriculum contains activities designed to help children recognize basic quantitative concepts and discover problem solving. Math units prepare and introduce children to pre-numerical skills.

Science: Science units are designed to arouse curiosity that many children naturally have about "why, what, when, where and how" the world works. Children will investigate concepts introduced each month such as: weather, plants, growing bodies and insects.

Social: Social units are designed to help children see themselves as a part of a class or group with responsibilities. The activities in this unit are created to foster an awareness of each person's part in society and to teach mutual respect.

Music: The children attend music class every Tuesday with our music instructor. In our music enrichment program the children are exposed to a variety of musical aspects including: song, reading music, and instruments.

Dance and Tumbling: Dance and tumbling will also be offered at an additional fee, for all families wishing to participate. Our dance instructor will be ready to danceŠtumbleŠand roll with your child if you choose to enroll!
